The emergence of The Mandalorian marks a new era for Star Wars. This series launched just weeks before The Rise of Skywalker, giving us a whole new look at the universe. The story of the bounty hunter and his young henchmen solidifies Disney+'s position in the streaming market and defines the future direction of the live-action series.
Five years later, the big screen is once again in the spotlight. There are currently four Star Wars movies in development, covering a time period from thousands of years before the prequels to a few years after the finale of the sequel trilogy.
The Mandalorian vs. Grogu, the upcoming film in The Mandalorian series, presents a great opportunity to solve an important Jedi mystery in the Star Wars franchise.
James Mangold's upcoming Dawn of the Jedi will provide many answers, but The Mandalorian and Grogu may lay the groundwork by revealing key elements of Jedi lore. If you remember Din Djarin and Grogu's search for Tython in The Mandalorian Season 2, it's possible that young Grogu sent out a call to all the remaining Jedi, eventually leading to Lu K. Skywalker's response. The planet Tython appeared more than 30,000 years ago in the 2012 comic series "Dawn of the Jedi".
Even The Mandalorian season 3 will contain many flashbacks, including one to how Grogu survived Order 66. Such a connection could finally explain many details about Tython, the most mysterious planet in the galaxy, and the Force that fans have been waiting for.
Other upcoming films include "Untitled The New Jedi" directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and "The Untitled New Republic" film directed by Dave Filoni.
Keep an eye on the dates because the next few years are going to be very exciting for the galaxy far, far away.
